It was a pleasure arranging and playing it. A few weeks ago we've even played a full band version with this harmonisation together with 150 people singing it. It worked perfectly! I hope to upload a recording of it soon.

And if I had the time I would love to make some more jazzy arrangements for other psalms. I think that the Genevan melodies suit almost any genre of music. The original material is really versatile. For now I only have a jazzy arrangement for the psalms 87 and 139.

Groeten vanuit Nederland (Amsterdam)Roeland Scherffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01387152655741559111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991015405231004785.post-1510848402941952622024-02-26T20:19:43.011-05:002024-02-26T20:19:43.011-05:00Interesting find! I'm participating in church that's a member of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches. We don't sing any of these old versions of Psalms. On the rare occasions when we do sing a Psalm it's in the style of the Gettys, which are very nice, but don't have the gravitas of the old versions. The Worship Service is a Hymn Sandwich, which leaves me feeling cut off from the catholic Church. I miss the Reformed liturgy! Still God is worshipped and His Word is read and faithfully preached, for which I'm grateful.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15054543082104209150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8991015405231004785.post-15932395672713936662023-10-03T19:39:01.850-04:002023-10-03T19:39:01.850-04:00Dear Donald P. You've done a sensitive job of seeking to respect those feminine endings within the limitations of English, and the results dance a line between very speakable prose and singable poetry.
